I used to be fine with credit card stacking. A conversation with a financial advisor changed my mind — here's why.
The story is common. A business owner opens a stack of credit cards, pulls the funds, and runs his business on zero-percent for the first twelve months. Sounds free. Here's the catch: a year later that zero-percent was gone, and he couldn't cover the payments. The cards that funded the business were now bleeding it.
Here's what I'd do instead — get the business loan up front, then add credit on the back end when you actually need it. Same capital, very different exposure. A loan gives you a fixed payment and a payoff date from day one; a stack gives you a deadline you can't see until it's on top of you.
The thing is, the math only looks free while the promo lasts. What matters is what those cards cost the day the zero-percent runs out.
Comment STACK and I'll send you the calculator that shows what those cards really cost the day the zero-percent runs out — right next to what a business loan costs over that same year. Run your own numbers before you stack.
